After George Floyd's death at the hands of the police, filmmaker Morteza Rafiei began documenting the Black Lives Matter protests. As a Middle Eastern man, witnessing the same type of injustice that he had seen in his homeland occur in America stirred a desire to comprehend the reason for America's division.
Thus, Morteza started journeying through America in search of stories that would bring people together. He's a storyteller who is passionate about exhibiting our common humanity and bridging gaps with empathy. Various film festivals in America have screened his work, and he has been recognised with multiple awards.
